An object (A) of m 0.1 kg strikes a second object (B) of m 0.3 kg that is initially rest. M A has an initial velocity of + 2m/s. A) ume that the collision is entirely elastic . Calculate and describe the final velocities for the two objects.Assume that this problem is entirely one-dimensional. B) Now assume that the collision is totally inelastic. Again calculate and describe the final state for these objects. C) For the inelastic collision case, calculate the total energy of the system before and after the collision. Is mechanical energy conserved in this case; if not account for the discrepancy.
