Why does my husband do things for attention like a child?

He lies about stupid things just to receive comfort. And he plays games with me to get his way. Am I going to have a big kid for a husband forever? He is constantly buying new toys for himself but seldom thinks about spoil me or our child. I know he loves me he just is clueless some days. I want more kids of my own but I need him to grow up first. Any suggestions?
